Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) In The Traditions of Ahle Tasannun
Some people are of the opinion that the belief in Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is restricted to the Shias but on the contrary, the books of Ahle Tasannun have not just mentioned Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), but have enumerated his characteristics in astonishing detail.

Reappearance of Imam (a.t.f.s.) is a necessary condition for the Day of Reckoning
Abdullah b. Masood has reported a tradition on the authority of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who prophesied,
“The Day of Reckoning shall not dawn, until a person from my progeny, who will bear my name, rises.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ka Zuhoor Qayamat ki Sharte Lazim Hai
Abdullah b. Masood ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se ye rawayat naql ki hai,
“Qayamat us waqt tak nahi aa sakti jab tak ke mere Ahle Bait (a.s.) mein se ek shakhs zaahir ho jo mera hum-naam hoga.”

Traditions pertaining to Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) are most reliable
Abul Husain Aabori opines that traditions relating to Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) are authentic and plenty of narrators have reported on the authority of the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.).
"His advent is indisputable. He will be from the progeny of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) and will establish a just government, obliterating tyranny and inequity. His era will mark the return of Hazrat Isa (a.s.), who will pray namaz behind him."
Hazrat Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) Se Mutaalliq Ahadees Mutawaatir Hain
Abul Husain Aabori ne kaha: Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) se muta’alliq rawaayatei’n mutawatir hain aur raawiyo’n ki kasrat ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se rawayate’n naql ki hain.
“Wo zaahir honge aur aap (s.a.w.a.) ke Ahlebait (a.s.) mein se honge. Aur wo zameen se zulm aur na-insaafi ko khatm karte hue ek aadil hukumat ka qayaam farmaayenge. Aur un ke zamane mein Hazrat Isa (a.s.) zaahir honge aur aap (a.s.) ke peeche namaz padhenge.”

Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is from the Quraish
Abu Saeed Khudri recounts from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who prophesied,
"I give you glad tidings of Mahdi (a.t.f.s.). He shall be from the Quraish and rise from my progeny. He shall reappear at a time when confusion and sedition shall wreak havoc. He shall fill the earth with justice and equity, as it would have been inundated with tyranny and injustice."

Abul Saeed Khudri ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se rawayat ki hain, ke aap ne farmaya:
“Tumhe Mehdi (a.t.f.s.) ki bashaarat ho, wo Quraish se aur meri itrat se honge ke jab logo'n mein ikhtelaaf hoga aur log bahut zyada mashkook honge. Wo zameen ko Adl o Insaaf se is tarah bhar denge ki jis tarah wo zulm wa jaur se bhari hogi”

Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is the Son of the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w.a.)
Abdullah b. Umar narrates from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who said,
“During the last days, a person from my progeny shall be manifested, who shall share my name and agnomen (kuniyat). He shall overwhelm the earth with justice and lawfulness, as it would have been submerged in tyranny and oppression.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) Farzande Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) hai’n
Abdullah b. Umar ne Janabe Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se riwayat ki hai,
“Aakhiri zamane mein meri nasl se ek shakhs zaahir hoga jiska naam mera naam hoga, jiski kuniyat meri kuniyat hogi, wo zameen ko adl se is tarah bhar dega jis tarah wo zulm wa jaur se bhari hogi.”

Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is from the sons of Hazrat Fatima (s.a.)
Hazrat Umme Salma (s.a.), wife of Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), narrates on his (s.a.w.a.) authority thus,
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is truth, and he shall be from the lineage of Fatima (s.a.).”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) Janabe Fatima (s.a.) ki Aulaad hain
Zaujae Rasul (s.a.wa.), Hazrat Umme Salma (s.a.) ne Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se riwayat ki hai,
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) Haq hai’n, aur Janabe Fatima (s.a.) ki nasl se hai’n.”

Abu Saeed Khudri narrates from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) thus,
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will have a broad forehead and high nose. He will establish peace and justice on the earth at a time when it would have been filled with tyranny and injustice.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ki Peshani aur Naak
Abu Saeed Khudri ne Janabe Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se riwayat naql ki hai,
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ki peshaani chaurhi aur naak kharhi hogi. Wo zameen ko adl o Insaaf se is tarah bhar denge jis tarah wo zulm o jaur se bhari hogi.”

Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will bear a Striking Resemblance to Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.)
Tamim al-Daaromi recounts from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) who prophesied,
“Mahdi’s (a.t.f.s.) conduct shall resemble mine. Even his visage and appearance shall bear an unmistakable resemblance to mine. He shall fill the earth with justice and amit just as it was filled with despotism and oppression.”

Tamim al-Daaromi ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se riwayat ki hai ke aap (s.a.w.a.) ne farmaya,
“Mahdi’s (a.t.f.s.) ka akhlaaq mere akhlaaq se mushabeh hoga aur unki shakl wa surat bhi mer tarah hogi. Wo zameen ko adl o Insaaf se is tarah bhar denge jis tarah wo zulm o jaur se bhari hogi.”

Imam Mahdi’s (a.t.f.s.) Occultation
Janab Jabir b. Abdullah Ansari (a.r.) recounts from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.), who proclaimed,
“… There will be an occultation for Mahdi (a.t.f.s.), that will be most perplexing, and will deviate the nations. Eventually he will reappear like a shooting star and fill the earth with justice and equity like it would have been filled with despotism and repression.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ki Ghaibat
Janab Jabir b. Abdullah Ansari (a.r.) ka bayaan hai ke Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) ne farmaya,
“… Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ke liye ek aisi ghaibat hogi jo bahut hi hairaan-kun hogi jis mein ummatei’n gumraah ho jayengi. Phir wo shahaab-e-saaqib ki tarah zaahir honge aur zameen ko adl o Insaaf se is tarah bhar denge jis tarah wo zulm o jaur se bhari hogi.”

Rationale Behind Occultation of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)
Ibn Abbas relates that Jabir b. Abdullah Ansari (a.r.) asked Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.),
“O Prophet (s.a.w.a.)! Will there be an occultation for your son?”
Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) replied,
“Yes! So that Allah may purify the faithful and destroy the infidels. O Jabir, this (reason for occultation) is an affair from the affairs of Allah, a secret from one of his secrets that he has not disclosed to His servants. Beware! Never doubt it! For to be afflicted with doubt in Allah’s affairs is apostasy.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ki Ghaibat ki Hikmat
Ibn Abbas se riwayat hai ke Jabir b. Abdullah Ansari (a.r.) ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se daryaft kiya,
“Ae Allah ke Rasool (s.a.w.a.)! Kya aapke farzand ke liye ghaibat hai?”
Aap ne (s.a.w.a.) farmaya,
“Haa’n! ta ke Khuda Wande Aaalam sahibaane imaan ko paak kare aur kaafiro’n ko halaak kare. Ae Jaabir! Ye ghaibat Khuda ke umoor mein se ak amr hai aur Khuda ke raazo’n mein se ek raaz hai jise apne bando’n se poshida rakha hai. Aagaah raho! Is mein hargiz shak na karna kyunke Khuda Wande Aalam ke amr mein shak karna kufr hai.”

Those who prepare ground for the reign of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)
Abdullah b. Harith b. Jazr Zubaidi relates from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.),
“The people from the east shall arrive and establish the groundwork for Mahdi’s (a.t.f.s.) government.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ke Hukoomat ki raahe’n humwaar karne wale
Abdullah bin Harith bin Jazr Zubaidi Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se Riwayat naql karte hain,
“Haa’n! ta ke Khuda Wande Aaalam sahibaane imaan ko paak kare aur kaafiro’n ko halaak kare. Ae Jaabir! Ye ghaibat Khuda ke umoor mein se ak amr hai aur Khuda ke raazo’n mein se ek raaz hai jise apne bando’n se poshida rakha hai. Aagaah raho! Is mein hargiz shak na karna kyunke Khuda Wande Aalam ke amr mein shak karna kufr hai.”

The Time of Reappearance will be Determined Overnight
Imam Ali (a.s.) narrates from Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.),
“The Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) is from us. Allah will reform all his affairs in one night.”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ka Zuhoor ka waqt ek raat mein tay hoga
Imam Ali (a.s.) ne Hazrat Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se Riwayat ki hai,
“Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) hum mein se hai’n. Allah unke liye ek raat mein sab umoor ki islaah kar dega.”

Abundant wealth and riches in the time of Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.)
Abu Saeed Khudri relates from the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.),
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will be from my progeny. In his regime, my nation shall be bestowed with bounties, without parallel in the history of mankind. Everything will be available and distributed freely. Wealth and riches will be in excess. A person shall implore, ‘O Mahdi, give me.’ Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) will retort, ‘Take whatever you please!’”
Imam Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) ke Zamane mein Maal ki Farawani
Abu Saeed Khudri ne Rasule Khuda (s.a.w.a.) se riwayat naql ki,
“Mahdi (a.t.f.s.) meri nasl se honge. Un ki hukoomat mein meri ummat ko aisi nematei’n milengi jo puri insaani tareekh mein kabhi bhi kisi ko nahi mili hongi. Har cheez dastiyaab hogi aur azadana taqseem hogi. Us waqt maal ka ambaar hoga. Ek shakhs sawaal karega ke, Ae Madhi (a.t.f.s.)! Mujhe ata farmaiye to Hazrat (a.t.f.s.) farmayenge, ‘Jitna chaho le lo.’”
